Boulder Care Engages Amperos to Automate Denial and Collections Work with AI Agents
Nov 17, 2025
Boulder Care, a leading telehealth substance use disorder (SUD) platform, has chosen Amperos to deploy AI agents in RCM, beginning with Amanda, Amperos' multi-modal AI coworker. Amanda enables teams to reverse more denials, pursue unpaid claims, and accelerate cash collection to fuel growth. She automates AR follow-up and denial work, allowing the RCM team to recover more revenue while reducing costs.
Boulder Care is an industry leader in substance use disorder treatment. Drawing on extensive clinical expertise, validated research, and insights from patients, the company has created a distinctive model that integrates evidence-based treatment, committed care teams, and an accessible digital platform. As a result, Boulder Care achieves an NPS that is 2x higher than the industry average, with 93% of patients reducing unwanted use.
"Boulder Care is expanding rapidly to reach more patients who are in critical need. The reality is that we need to adapt our operations for scale in the modern age," said Mitzi Yue, SVP of Finance at Boulder Care. "Amperos enhances our RCM team's capacity, allowing them to work on more unpaid or outstanding claims, enabling our billing team to concentrate on the highest-value work rather than repetitive manual tasks."
LLM-powered AI agents can now automate highly complex tasks, including navigating insurance websites and conducting calls with payers. This capability shifts repetitive work away from human staff, freeing them to focus on higher-value tasks. For customers using Amperos, claims that Amanda has already worked on are processed anywhere from 2x to 5x faster by human billers. This efficiency gain means teams can deploy Amanda to solve immediate staffing challenges or create capacity to support future growth.
"Boulder Care is addressing one of the most critical public health challenges facing the United States—opioid addiction and substance use disorders," said Michal Miernowski, Co-Founder & CEO of Amperos. "We're helping their RCM team process more claims and support their clinical expansion, ensuring that financial operations don't become a barrier to serving more patients. We're proud to be part of Boulder Care's mission to improve the lives of people with substance use disorders through accessible, evidence-based treatment."
As the Boulder Care team broadens its use of Amanda for payor calls and automated payor portal work, the teams plan to expand their collaboration into additional workflows, including appeals processing, resubmissions, medical necessity requests, and more.
